American astrologer and author of her declination studies in 1975. Kt is widely known for her book "Declination: The Other Dimension" which was published in 1994 as the best selling new book at the AFA Convention. It has continued to be a best selling book every year since then and is going into the 4th edition in 2001. Prior to that, she was editor of The Stellium Quarterly, an astrological journal that was published primarily to introduce her work with declination to the general public. From its first edition in 1975 it was a very successful publication. She was forced to close this publication down because of the illness and subsequent death of her husband, James Boehrer, who was written up in a very fine book "Astrological Pioneers of America" by James H. Holden and Robert A. Hughes, published in 1988. The following is a medical report of cancer in her own words: "History: I updated my chart in September 1996 and realized that I probably would have to deal with cancer. In late October 96 I suddenly became very hoarse and immediately made an appointment with my doctor who examined me, found nothing wrong and indicated that I needed a little rest (probably seeing too many clients, doing too many classes and lectures. "I saw him again in December 1996 - still hoarse - no other symptoms - same diagnosis. "In Jan 1997 I saw him a third time and asked for the name of a good eye, ear, nose and throat doctor. I then made an immediate appointment and the specialist immediately warned me that I might have cancer of the larynx. Immediate tests proved positive and he then referred me to specialists at Georgetown Univ. Med Hospital (reported the best in the world for this particular problem.) "These doctors confirmed the diagnosis and I started a course of chemotherapy in February 1997 that lasted until the middle of July 1997. About a week later I began a 40-day course of radiation. Tests indicated that I was cancer free and I returned to my home in El Paso where I felt great until the first week of June 1998 when I became very weak and ill and hoarse. "Tests run the middle of June indicated that the cancer was reactivated. On 6/14/1998 a gastric feeding tube was inserted ( they felt that I would probably never be able to eat normally again and knew that with the surgery I faced I would be unable to eat for at least six months. I was taken by ambulance to the airport and flown to Washington, DC, to my team of doctors there. "On 6/16/1998 they performed an emergency tracheotomy in order to facilitate my breathing and on 6/22/1998 a radical throat dissection was performed for the removal of my larynx, thyroid, parathyroid, lymph nodes on both left and right sides. The right jugular vein was removed and the non-cancerous portions were used to patch the less cancerous left jugular vein. Dr. Davidson reconstructed the whole throat so that I could swallow but was not convinced that it would work – it turned out to be a "catastrophic" surgery with doctors working in teams round the clock for over two days. It wiped me out financially but it was worth it. "I recovered quite rapidly and the feeding tube was removed about six months after the surgery and I am fortunately able to eat without difficulty.
