Cimoli Giancarlo

Italian public and private manager, who administered the State Railways, the Alitalia airline, becoming known for his extravagant salaries. In the September 2015 ruling of an Alitalia-related trial, Cimoli was sentenced to eight years and eight months imprisonment for bankruptcy, together with other executives of the company. Operations carried out by Cimolis management between 2001 and 2007 led to losses of more than 4 billion euros. In the same judgment, Cimoli and his former associates were sentenced to pay compensation of over € 355 million (€ 160 million from Cimoli only) to the Alitalia group of companies they administered and to a thousand private shareholders and other relevant parties.
