Dani

French model, actress, singer, revue leader of Jean-Marie Rivières revue The Alcazar and "queen of the night" who created her own nightclub in Paris called "LAventure", inspired by Studio 54 in New York City. In 1964, she left Perpignan and moved to Paris where she attended "Les Beaux-Arts". At first, she wanted to become a beautician. In 1966, she was contracted to Pathé-Marconi and released her first single "Garçon manqué." In 1968, "Papa vient dépouser la bonne" sold a million copies and was a major hit. Dani was meant to have been Frances Eurovision Song Contest 1974 entry, but President Georges Pompidou died in the week of the competition, so she never entered Eurovision properly. In cinema she played the script-girl Liliane in two François Truffaut films, Day for Night and Love on the Run. After health concerns, she came back in 2001 with a successfull duet she sang with Daho: "Comme un boomerang" (Like a boomerang). In 2021-22, she recorded her last album, mostly written by Jil Caplan. She lived with photographer Benjamin Auger (1942-2002), and they had a son, Julien, born in 1969.
