Elsink Henk

Dutch cabaret artist, singer and writer, who started his career on television programs such as "Capriolen," "Schertsboek" and "Ad Ladin en de Wonderlamp." In 1963, Elsink started his radio program "Vrij Entree," hosting many famous guests from the world of theatre and television. The program ended with the 100th show broadcast in 1969. Elsink then went into theatre with one-man shows. Some songs from these shows made the charts and recordings of these shows were afterwards often broadcast on television, achieving consistently high ratings. For his shows, he received a Gouden Harp (Golden Harp award) in 1973. During the writing and preparation of a new program in 1988 Elsink decided to abruptly stop his career. He moved to Mallorca and after a number of years doing nothing, he began writing thrillers. His books were praised by critics for their strong structure and subtle dialogue.
