Gaus Martin

Dutch baseball international, dog trainer and television presenter. He came out as a baseball catcher for the Netherlands in the 1962 European Championships. But because baseball is not popular at all in Holand, he is best known for his animal programs on TV. After having been director of a steel market for years, Gaus started in 1974 his animal house Dierenhotel in Lelystad, and turned his hobby into his profession. He started a dog training school and got national fame. Since 1981, he started for the TROS television the program Animals Ways. From 1989 to 1996, he presented the Bunch dog race Wet Noses show. Later, he was a regular quest speaker in the childrens program The World K3 of the Flemish girl band K3 where he spoke on animal behaviour. For the European elections in 2004 and parliamentary elections of 2006 he stood on the list of the Party for the Animals . On 25 April 2014, Gauss was honoured as a Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau . Link to Dutch Wikipedia Read less
