Mason Waye

Canadian record label owner and distributor who played key roles establishing the Halifax music scene on the international stage. He founded the Halifax Pop Explosion (music festival and conference) and the music business program at NSCC, and was later elected to Halifax Regional Council. He started No Records, a record label and later record distributor that operated in Halifax, Nova Scotia from January 1993 to August 2004. Started during the "Halifax is the Seattle of the north" phenomena of the 1990s, No Records released cassettes and CDs by notable Halifax musicians. Link to No Records Read less
