Who is OHara Tom?

American middle distance runner who was the first native of the state of Illinois to break the four-minute barrier for the mile run when he ran 3:59.4 in 1963. He also held the world record for fastest mile in indoor track, which was set when he ran 3:56.6 on 13 February 1964.
