Oswald Rachel

American noted family member, the younger of the two daughters of Lee Harvey Oswald, the man officially acknowledged as the sniper who assassinated president John F. Kennedy on 22 November 1963, although the facts are disputed. Rachel was 35 days old when her father was shot and mortally wounded by Dallas nightclub owner Jack Ruby in full view of television cameras broadcasting live. Two years after her fathers death, her widowed mother Marina Oswald married electronics worker Kenneth Jess Porter, with whom she had a son. Along with her older sister June she took her step-fathers surname, and is thus also known as Rachel Oswald Porter.
