American retail employee and homicide perpetrator. Wilkins began an abusive relationship with Terry Carlton prior to 1996, who spoke of marriage and shared his drugs. These were not street people or from the poor side of town but were both Anglo, well educated and in business. Terrys dad owned two car agencies and April was in the prosthesis business with her dad. In latter 1996 and 1997, April got restraining orders against Carlton. April had a seven-year-old son from a prior marriage and was taking Prozac along with therapy counseling. On the early morning of 4/28/1998, she went to Terrys house where she found him in the basement, shooting up drugs. She wanted to make up from a prior fight, but instead, got into another argument. She went upstairs, got Terrys gun, returned to the basement and shot him in the neck; pumping eight more bullets into him as he fell. On 7/28/1998, April was found guilty of first degree murder.
