Shewell TanyaThornton

American Republican politician and former member of the Maryland House of Delegates (2004-2011). Tanya Shewell replaced Carmen Amedori when she was appointed to the Parole Commission by Governor Bob Ehrlich in 2004. In 2007, she became the Deputy Minority Whip in the Maryland House of Delegates. Shewell represents District 5A, which covers Carroll County, Maryland. Tanya Shewell is the manager/owner of a family rental property business since 1969. She has worked for State Department of Education at the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, 1970–77, the Carroll Lutheran Health Care Center, 1981–83, and Executive Director, Granite House Inc., 1983-1991.
