Vega Alberto

Chilean writer, TV and stage actor, director and dramatist, who suffers from a brain injury called "locked-in syndrome" (LIS). He sustained the injury in March 2006, due to a bicycle accident in San Carlos de Apoquindo, whereby he was paralyzed all over his body when he hit his head heavily. Locked-in syndrome is a condition in which a patient is aware but cannot move or communicate verbally due to complete paralysis of nearly all voluntary muscles in the body except for vertical eye movements and blinking. He communicates thanks to an electronic device that allows him to write with his eyes.
