Numerology Calculator Find your Mulank, Bhagyank and name number

In Indian numerology, three numbers sit at the centre of a reading: the Mulank from your birth day, the Bhagyank from your full date of birth, and the name number from the letters of your name. Each is reduced to a single digit from 1 to 9, and each digit is linked to one of the nine planets.

Enter your details

Your date of birth gives your Mulank and Bhagyank. Add your name, written in English letters, to get your name number as well. Every step of the calculation is shown.

Names use the Chaldean letter values, and every total is reduced to a single digit from 1 to 9. Calculators that use the Pythagorean system can give a different name number.

What the calculator shows

Each number comes with its planet, its theme and the working that produced it.

Mulank (driver number)

Your birth day reduced to one digit. It is read as how you approach things day to day.

Bhagyank (destiny number)

Every digit of your date of birth added together and reduced to one digit. It is read as the direction of your life as a whole.

Name number

The letters of your name converted to numbers with the Chaldean table, added up and reduced. It is read as how others know you.

The ruling planet

Each number from 1 to 9 is linked to a planet, from the Sun for 1 to Mars for 9, and the result names it.

The working

Every addition is shown, so you can check the numbers by hand or compare them with another calculator.

Letter by letter

Your name is broken down word by word, with the value of each letter, so you can see where the name number comes from.

How the three numbers are calculated

Mulank comes from the day of the month you were born. Someone born on the 15th adds 1 and 5 to get 6. Bhagyank uses the whole date: for 15-06-1998 you add 1+5+0+6+1+9+9+8 to get 39, then 3+9 to get 12, then 1+2 to get 3.

The name number uses the Chaldean table, in which each letter has a value from 1 to 8. The values of every letter in your name are added together, and the total is reduced the same way until one digit is left.

How DKSCORE calculates your numbers

Chaldean letter values

Names use the Chaldean (Cheiro) system, the one most often used in Indian numerology. No letter is given the value 9; a name can only reach 9 as a total.

Always a single digit

Every total is reduced to a digit from 1 to 9. Master numbers such as 11 or 22 are reduced too, as in the Indian tradition.

The same Mulank and Bhagyank as the Lo Shu grid

Both calculators use the same calculation, so your Mulank and Bhagyank here always match the ones placed in your Lo Shu grid.

English letters only

The Chaldean table is defined for the English alphabet. Accents are ignored, and a name written in another script is not counted rather than counted partly.

See your numbers in a Lo Shu grid

Your Mulank and Bhagyank are also placed in your Lo Shu grid, alongside the digits of your date of birth, to show which numbers are missing or repeated.

FAQ

Numerology calculator: questions and answers

What is Mulank in numerology?
Mulank, also called the root or driver number, is your day of birth reduced to a single digit. If you were born on the 29th, add 2 and 9 to get 11, then 1 and 1 to get 2. Your Mulank is 2.
What is Bhagyank and how is it calculated?
Bhagyank, also called the destiny or conductor number, comes from your complete date of birth. Add every digit of the day, month and four-digit year together, then keep adding the digits of the total until one digit from 1 to 9 is left.
What is the difference between Mulank and Bhagyank?
Mulank uses only your birth day and is read as how you approach daily life. Bhagyank uses the whole date of birth and is read as the broader direction of your life. Two people born on the same day of any month share a Mulank, but usually not a Bhagyank.
How is the name number calculated?
Each letter of your name is given a value from the Chaldean table, from 1 to 8. The values of all the letters are added together, and the total is reduced to a single digit. The calculator shows the value of every letter and each step of the addition.
Which name should I enter?
In the Chaldean tradition, the name number is taken from the name you are known by in daily life, written in English letters. You can try more than one version of your name to compare them.
Why is my name number different on another website?
Many websites use the Pythagorean system, which gives letters different values and keeps master numbers such as 11 and 22. DKSCORE uses the Chaldean system and reduces every total to a single digit, so the two can give different results for the same name.
Can I enter my name in Hindi?
Not at the moment. The Chaldean table is defined for English letters, so please write your name in English. A name in another script is not counted rather than counted partly, which would give a wrong number.
Are my name and date of birth saved?
No. The numbers are calculated in your browser. Your name and date of birth are not sent to our servers, saved to a profile or added to the page address.
